When I was younger I envied other children who had freckled faces, freckles are such a unique feature that I never had and always wanted. I still don't have freckles, so I'm expressing my secret wish to have them on my nails with Illamasqua's Limited Edition Freckle Nail Polish, part of the range of speckled polishes released for the Im'Perfection Collection.
Illamasqua polishes are packaged inside cardboard boxes with the glass bottle peaking through, giving you a glimpse of what's to come. Inside a glass jar with a patent twist off lid is a skinny brush for application and of course 15ml of nail polish formula. The brush is excellent for applying the polish, for my nails which I'd say are quite large I only need three quick swipes of the brush for total coverage, I don't experience any dragging of the polish or problems at each coat.
'Freckle' really captures the uniqueness of freckled features, adopting a totally new approach to nail art by combining large pieces of matte glitter and much finer grains of glitter within a smooth and well pigmented polish. The hue itself is a neutral, almost beige colour with flecks of darker brown and greyish black, the combination works really well together. I find the wear time for the polish is around a week, which is excellent, it barely chips at all, the only problem is that removing it is quite a difficulty! I can cope with that, the finish is more than worth the effort taken to remove.

I can't get enough of how unique and fresh the final look is, I literally can't stop admiring my nails when I wear this polish! In just two coats, which dry double quick, you can achieve a totally opaque finish with a look thats really different, it's a real crowd pleaser with an excellent message behind it that freckles are beautiful and unique features that can be enjoyed and celebrated by all.

Illamasqua Speckled Polishes including Freckle retail for £14.50* each from Illamasqua stores and stockists such as ASOS and the Illamasqua website.

  1. Freckle is really pretty. I picked up the lilac shade - speckled, I think? - but I'm undecided on it. It would be pretty for summer though x

    1. I have lilac too and think its really pretty, it's very springy and quite different! Keep working with it, I'm sure you'll love it in no time at all. I reckon it would look nice with a silver glitter top coat maybe to liven it up a little?

    1. That's such a good idea, I don't like chocolate so don't get easter eggs, what a fab alternative yet still seasonal.
