'Vivid Pink, Matte Finish'

The I'mPerfection Collection from Illamasqua for Spring 2013 has been triumphant in just its first week since the launch and is it any surprise with such a poignant message and eye capturing range of products inspired by nature? One of the permanent products from the I'mPerfection Collection is a new shade of matte lipstick called 'Immodest'.
For me, this lipstick is a gamechanger. I've been in a lipstick rut for years, I can't part with my nude lipsticks and own only two or three variations of nude hues, they're all extremely similar shades according to friends. When I had Immodest in my hands for the first time I gave it a try and much to my surprise I liked it. From there I wore it out, wore it to University, wore it to meetings and people started noticing that I'd changed 'something' and that they liked it. Then I started liking it, really liking it, I'd gone from nude lipstick rut to rocking punchy pink lips and nobody could stop me.
Packaged inside patent square casing is 4g of creamy lipstick in a classic bullet style with a slanted edge for easy and precise application. Rest assured that the packaging is clutch and travel friendly and sturdy enough to not crack or break easily under pressure.
Immodest is just as described, a highly pigmented vivid pink shade that's punchy and bright, in my eyes it will compliment any skin tone and it makes your teeth look whiter too. Immodest delivers a very matte finish so be sure your lips are in good condition prior to wear; personally I like the matte finish, if you're not too big a fan but like the colour you could always apply a balm or gloss over the top. Wear time is fantastic, at least six hours of pigmented colour and an even longer lasting 'stain' on the lips.

So there we have it, I've outed myself from a lipstick rut with just one shade and the change seems permanent, of course I still love my nudes but when I'm feeling a little brighter and a little more daring Immodest slicks its way onto my lips. If you're still unsure, pop in store and have a swatch and I'm sure you'll be converted just like me; if not there's plenty of other lovely lipsticks with high pigmented colour and longwear formulas in the Illamasqua range.

Illamasqua Lipstick in 'Immodest' retails for £16* from the Illamasqua website, Illamasqua stores and stockists.

  6. Wow that colour is absolutely beautiful! I really like the appearance of it on your lips too (that sounds creepy but I hope you know what I mean haha!) I have a similar shade in Barry M but I'm never really brave enough to wear it, I need to step out of my comfort zone!

    1. I know what you mean, sometimes lipsticks can look a bit too sheer or drying or something and it can put people off! I think there will be a few dupes out there on the high street too.

    1. So much more wearable than I had expected, in the bullet it is so stark and bright but on the lips its a bit more muted. I think it will look different against different skin tones but its a suit-all shade too.

  14. You've made me want to go and get it out right now and put it straight on rather than letting it sit there whilst I catch up with all of the other products I want to review! It looks great and I really love matte formulas too, sounds like I made a great impulse buy!

    1. Ah it's such a problem isn't it when you can't use something until it's been photographed for the blog! The formula is good, some have reported it to be a little drying so scrub your lips and apply a little balm if it comes up drying.
