Fresh from the salon of top colourist Daniel Galvin Junior is a truly exciting new range of botanical and organic haircare products available at an affordable price (you won't believe it until you see it) - word has it Millie Mackintosh is a fan! Organic Head believe in products that are honest to you, promising no harsh chemicals, sulphates or parabens in any of their products, only natural plant and oil goodness.
You only need to take one look at my unattended fine, limp hair to know that its perhaps a touch over processed with heat styling and lacking in all the good stuff, including bounce, shine and a healthy appearance. Organic Head, cleverly shortened to Oh!, offer up three Detox & Purify products to solve oily hair woes, smooth frizzy ends and nourish tired, dull and stressed hair (it's a range designed to solve all my hair complaints in one, excellent). I've been putting these to the test alongside the Heat Defence & Shine Spray in a bid to spruce up my locks but on a purse pleasing budget.
DETOX & PURIFY SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER
The first step to a fantastic hairstyle is the base, that means starting right back at your shampoo and conditioner! This Detox & Purify Duo work in harmony to not only cleanse and nourish but boost and refresh your hair with ingredients like precious oils, seaweed and coffee extracts and EcoCert Aloe Vera. The shampoo lathers well despite its lack of laureth sulphates which is usually the key ingredient for a thick lather, and rinses out the hair with ease. My hair always feels squeaky clean after using this shampoo, I opt for it after a long day at University, after a tiring session at the gym or after I've been swimming to really cleanse my hair of all the impurities its gathered during my activities. The conditioner works through the lengths to smooth out ends and leave them super swishy and nourished.
DETOX HAIR MASQUE
Galvin & Galvin Detox Hair Masque really is a true detox for your hair, not only does it combine hair oils like argan and orange but it's enriched with Vitamins E and C to promote hair growth and even some amino acids to protect coloured hair.
Remember when I mentioned how I own two Soap & Glory Hair Turbans? This mask is the reason for a second purchase not for natural hair-draying reasons; its a real treat for when you have a little extra time to spare or even when you don't! Pop on the super creamy formula to damp ends and leave on for half hour - I wear a hair turban to seal in all the goodness but if you're lacking in one you could try a towel or even cling film. Once the time is up rinse with warm water thoroughly (don't leave any residues behind and don't exceed the recommended time or you may experience a slightly greasy finish) and style as usual. The results from this £4 hairmask are fab, super shiny rejuvenated ends that you can swish to your hearts content without worrying for split or dry end nightmares.
HEAT DEFENCE & SHINE SPRAY
With its ability to withstand the heat of my blow dryer on full followed by a session with my GHD's this heat defence come styling and finishing spray is giving my beloved Tresemme Heat Defence a run for its money! I spritz this on before applying any heat to my hair then finish my style with a final spritz from quite a distance to add a final boost of shine.
If you're on the hunt for a haircare brand that offers all the benefits of organic and natural ingredients, without nasty sulphates, at a super budget friendly price then Organic Head has it all. It's utterly refreshing to use an organic and sulphate free brand that doesn't come with a hefty price tag.
Galvin & Galvin Organic Head products retail for just £4 each* (yes, you read correctly) from the Daniel Galvin Junior online store. I'm off to stock up!
