We've reached the one week mark until Mother's Day so nows the time to really be thinking about what treats to bestow on your doting mother come March 10th if you haven't already! There's plenty of Mothers Day gift ideas floating about but for me you can't beat giving the gift of beauty, whether it be a little indulgence or an old favourite you simply can't go wrong. The gift of beauty is a gift that keeps on giving.
So where exactly is my go to place to scout out the perfect beauty products for Mother's Day...and perhaps any other occasion? Selfridges, of course, thanks to its wonderfully revamped beauty hall and Beauty Workshop. I couldn't resist heading down last week to take a look at what Selfridges have on offer whilst keeping mums in mind, feeling immediately excited by the counters brimming with beauty products and the staff equipped and ready to discuss the products with you and help you test them out. As I perused my way through the counters and stands I noticed some old favourites and some fantastic new, undiscovered brands. With a pen and paper in hand I made use of the staff, testers and brimming shelves to seek out ideal beauty gifts suitable for every mum, whether you're on a budget or digging deep I think I have something perfect up my sleeve...
First up I headed to the makeup counters, where a couple of well known beauty picks instantly caught my eye. This Shu Uemura Eye Palette (£50) from the Chocolat Donna collection is to die for, not only is it inspired by luxury chocolates but it's limited edition so you know you're gifting your mum something really special. The shades are well pigmented and blend together beautifully to create soft everyday looks or bolder evening looks. With a turn of my head I noticed Tom Ford, ah Tom Ford, the creator of beautiful cosmetics and none other than these creamy smooth Lip Colours, the beautiful shade I've got here is 'Cherry Lush', a divine cherry hue that's suitable teamed with a broad spectrum of skin tones and hair colours. Having uncovered two true beauty gems I wanted to find something classic for my mums nails, she's used Chanel and dabbled with Butter London so I wanted to find something truly unique. Ah, Azature Diamond Nail Polishes deliver just the trick, these polishes are so luxurious yet come in at a reasonable price of £17 each available in a range of shades. My favourite is Azature Black Diamond, a show stopping patent black hue with 'diamond like' flecks running through it, you can pick up the real deal 267 carat version for £160,000 if you're feeling extra generous

Next up I flitted my way between the skin and body care products, seeking out gifts of indulgence to pamper your mum from head to toe. My top pick for a totally relaxing experience while your mother puts her products into use has to be this limited edition candle by none other than beauty blogger favourite Diptyque. I've chosen it with my mother in mind, her favourite scent is rose and what a delightful way to celebrate it with this room-filling natural scented candle. It's a real treat for the nose, you've just got to give it one sniff and you'll be falling over heels for it.
If candles aren't quite your mothers thing I have plenty of other gifts to pamper her with! On the luxury end of the scale I've got the most amazing moisturiser in mind, used far and wide by models and celebs alike, Crème De La Mer Moisturizing Cream - I gave it a go in store and it transformed the appearance of my skin, with prices starting from £100 for a 30ml tub it's a pricey treat but it's worth every penny. For a less pricey skin treat I've turned to my favourite skincare brand and found this lovely Origins Anti Ageing Gift set, complete with Moisturiser, Eye Cream and Serum for £45. You'll have to head in store for this one because it's already flown off the virtual online shelves!
For the body I've sourced out two fantastic skin treats, of course Laura Mercier was my go to counter. This Crème Brûlée Honey Bath is sumptuous, inspired by Laura's own memories as a child of French patisseries it will leave your mums skin feeling clean and fresh with a veil of sweet-honey scent. I also love this Organic Pharmacy Rose Balm (£25, inspired by my own mums favourite scent once again), it's enriched with seven ultra nourishing plant oil ingredients for slathering over damp skin to leave it feeling soft and nourished, in fact it's a great multi-tasker so I'm told for using on unkept cuticles, dry lips and even as a softener for split ends!
Finally I was recommended something fantastic by a member of staff for a mum-to-be or new mum, this Selfridges Exclusive Mummy & Me Pamper Kit by Boo Boo is brimming with beauty tokens for mum and baby for a complete pamper treat; it's just adorable and comes in at £35.

So these are my top picks of what's on offer at Selfridges for Mothers Day Beauty Gifting, what a pleasure it was to take some time out to browse the beauty shelves and get some expert instruction. I can't tell you what I've picked up for my mum in case she sees but whatever you gift your mother this March 10th I hope you both have a beautiful day together with many more to come.

Visit the Selfridges website this week for more Mother's Day Gift Ideas and suggested Mothers Day Presents tailored to your mum with a mini gift-finder survey, or pop in store and chat to the beauty team for further suggestions.
